He/she will work closely with the Managing Director, Commercial Manager, Cluster managers and Financial Manager as well as the Europe-based ENGIE PowerCorner HQ team. The Operations and Technical Manager will be responsible for the technical designs, schedule, procurement, coordination and supervision of all EPC contractors from tendering, construction and maintenance of future mini-grids in Zambia. He/she will work closely with the Technicians to monitor the performance of all installations and maintenance operations.

  • Define Product Failure;
  • Classify product failure rates (Mechanical, Electrical, User fault, Tampering etc);
  • Work with the quality team in China to set clear Warranty terms with Suppliers and process to Claim warranty;
  • Report product Failure rate analysis monthly for all NGUs under SCaaS.;
  • Work with the data insight team to develop and maintain the failure rate dashboard;
  • Assist with the forecast of needed spares for each repair centre;
  • Compare failure rates in different NGUs and understand what influences the variance;
  • Work with the devices team to set acceptable failure rates and lifetime of products per year, set SLAs and ensure they are respected;
  • Assess the cost of repair per product based on failure rates and determine when it makes sense to repair a product;
  • Provide feedback to the QC team and Suppliers for continuous improvement of products.
