Description: IFC is conducting an initial project preparation phase for an embedded solar energy platform in Nigeria, expected to be implemented with the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund (NSIA). For this purpose, embedded generation refers to generation projects under 20 MW connected and evacuated through a distribution network. IFC expects to identify and develop at least three projects of approximately 60 MW (in aggregate) under a common platform.
In this project preparation phase, IFC is seeking a firm to (1) conduct technical screening of Distribution Companies networks with regards to their ability to accommodate solar PV and (2) identify and screen potential project sites. The site identification and screening will involve technical and E&S considerations. Firms should associate with suitably experienced local partners in order to benefit from local expertise and to allow site visits despite COVID-related travel restrictions.
