Description: The Mediterranean region has been connected for millennia for trade and cultural exchanges. In this webinar, we look into the development of production capacity from renewable energy sources (green electricity and green gas) in the sunny south of the Mediterranean for own consumption and for export to Europe, including the promotion of a policy, regulatory, and financing framework to support this trade. The job creation and stability that could result from this trade could be of major significance in the post-COVID-19 world. Sign up to this webinar to:
- Consider what the EU Green Deal and the Industrial Strategy, and associated initiatives such as the 2030 Target Climate Plan, mean for the Mediterranean
- Analyse the benefits of green energy trade between Europe and North Africa, particularly in view of Europe’s aim to be carbon neutral by 2050
- Hear about the vectors of integration such as electricity & green gases – including hydrogen and ammonia – and how these projects can lead to economic and hence political stability, coming from trade across the Mediterranean
