Description: Tanzania Electric Supply Company Ltd (TANESCO) has received a loan from the African Development Bank towards the cost of Integration of Existing Kigoma - Kasulu 33kV Distribution Networks to the Main Grid, LV Lines including MV/LV Distribution Transformers in Kigoma Region and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to cover eligible payments under the contract for Integration of existing Kigoma/Kasulu 33kV Distribution Networks to the Main Grid, LV Lines including MV/LV Distribution Transformers in Kigoma region. In addition, the low voltage lines will also include the supply and installation of all necessary equipment and materials to ensure the connection to estimated 5,000 customers and 7,500 ready boards for Kigoma region.

The Scope of work also includes modifying and connecting Kigoma and Kasulu existing stations.

Description: The Government of Burkina Faso has obtained funding from the French Development Agency to finance the WAPP - North Core / Dorsale Nord Interconnection Regional Project. It is expected that part of the sum granted under this financing will be used to make the payments provided for under the EPC “Turnkey” construction contract for the 225 kV power transmission line of approximately 33 km. in Ougadougou in Burkina Faso (Lot 5-TL).

The  WAPP North Core Project Management Unit is soliciting closed bids from eligible bidders to carry out “turnkey” construction works (EPC) of a 225 kV high voltage power transmission line in Burkina Faso. The International Invitation to Tender will be conducted in accordance with the Agency's procedures for a "one-step" tender.

Description: As part of the control and supervision mission of the construction project for the 225 kV Guinea-Mali power interconnection line and related substations, the Governments of Guinea and Mali have obtained funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the ECOWAS Investment and Development Bank (EBID), the West African Development Bank (BOAD), the World Bank (WB) and the European Union (EU) for the realization of the PIEGM works which includes:

  1. The construction of a 225 kV double-circuit line approximately 714 km long (from the Sanakoroba substation in Mali to the N’Zérékoré substation in Guinea);
  2. The extension of the 225/33 kV source substation at Sanankoroba located approximately 25 km from Bamako;
  3. Construction of the new 225/30 kV source substations in Siguiri, Fomi, Kankan, Kérouané and Beyla in Guinea; and
  4. The extension of the 225/30 kV source substation at N’Zérékoré in Guinea.

This project is expected to increase the availability of electricity in the two (2) countries and strengthen the establishment of the regional electricity market in West Africa.

Description: The scope of the works contracts will cover the rehabilitation, extension and strengthening of the existing low voltage distribution networks (11kV and 400V overhead lines) in eight (8) pre-selected high-density low-income areas of Lusaka city.  The scope of works will include the supply of material and equipment plus the subsequent installation and commissioning for low voltage distribution networks composed of 185 mm2 XLPE 11kV 3 core cable, 100 mm2 ACSR conductor overhead lines at 11kV, 315kVA 11/0.4kV and 100kVA 11/0.4kV distribution transformers, and 95 mm2 ABC conductor overhead lines at 0.4kV. The overhead distribution lines will be constructed using wooden poles.   

The upgraded distribution network will introduce additional electricity power capacity to enable the connection of at least 63,000 new beneficiaries - individual households, social/public amenities and micro and small medium enterprises in preselected urban and peri-urban areas of Lusaka.
