Description: This paper introduces the basic information of the Libyan electric network, with more focusing on power generation system. the information includes the current power demand, the power shortage, the problems, and the suggestion and possible solutions. furthermore, the paper discusses the Libyan electric sector plan for utilizing the renewable energies particularly, the wind and solar energies for covering part of power demand. Finally, the potential future picture of using renewable energy in Libya will be introduced.
