Description: In April 2007, the Government of Mauritius adopted the “Outline of the Energy Policy 2007-2025-Towards a Coherent Energy Policy for the Development of the Energy Sector in Mauritius” which outlines in broad terms Government’s long term vision for the energy sector. Based on this Outline, an energy study jointly funded by the EC and UNDP/UNEP was carried out from August to December 2007. The aim of the study was to support the development of a 25 year comprehensive energy policy, including a Master Plan for Renewable Energy sources.
