Description: The World Bank intends to undertake the first Global Energy Access Household Survey in Eswatini. The objective of the survey is:-

  • to establish a baseline for access to electricity in the country,
  • to determine the impact of the governments rural electrification programme,
  • to establish energy usage pattern in households,
  • to ascertain the extent of awareness on energy efficient technologies for clean cooking and determine the extent of wood fuel usage.

This survey will also be used to track the progress towards the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #7.1 on access to affordable, reliable and sustainable modern energy by 2030.
