Bio: Jorge has over 15 years’ experience in engineering and construction of infrastructures. His experience in Africa’s infrastructure industry spans over 5 years where he managed projects mostly in East Africa and in Portuguese-speaking countries.

Along with the African Power Platform he is in charge of the business development at GL Africa Energy, an IPP registered in the UK and focused on the sub-Saharan region, both on conventional power and renewables, by tapping into emerging opportunities in the continent’s growing energy industry.

Before, Jorge worked for SMEC International, a global consultancy firm in urban, infrastructure and management advisory, where he was heading the business development for Africa in the private sector, with special focus on power. He also worked with Prospectiva, an infrastructure consultancy firm. Jorge, who speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and French, holds a Masters in Civil Engineering from IST and a Post-Graduation in Business Administration from ISEG, all in Portugal.

Bio: With a communications background, Dorcas brings in more than 5 years of experience in business development, Project management, market entry, customer relations, corporate and direct marketing.

She is a focused Business Development Manager with exceptional planning and implementation capabilities. After working with different companies in different sectors, she is highly-trained in people’s skills with in-depth understanding of client’s requirements and market trends. Adept at cultivating, managing and leveraging client relationships. She brings vitality, professionalism and warmth, and a mindset of service and advocacy to her clients.

Dorcas’ primary focus is to build awareness about the African Power Platform and make sure that members are informed of the latest trends and news in the power sector.

Content and Social Media Manager

Bio: Filipa has a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Communication. Over three years, she has developed several tasks, especially in terms of web development and graphic design.

To her, the effort she puts into her actions is even more fundamental to reach her intended goals than her abilities.

In order to bring the African Power Platform further she brings a very positive attitude, a young and determined spirit to the team.

Filipa's role in the APP focuses, essentially, in boosting social networks and inserting current and diversified content into the web platform.
